Maths Test Stage 7.

Here is a copy of my last Basic Fact's Test for the year.
I am working at Level 7 Stage 4.
At the beginning of the year, I was working at Level 5 Stage 2,
I need to work on Factors And Multiples.

Maths.

Kia Ora,
I did a maths test a while ago and these are my results,
my weaknesses were counting forwards in halves its easy but i did not think about that.
I'm good at reading fractions, recall addition and adding to a thousand.

Here is the recount I wrote  for an Asttle writing test in Week 4.  Our teacher marked all our recounts and gave us our scores. Mine came out at Level 3p  which is just above the end of year standard for Year Five. I need to work on punctuation.  

Then we helped each other improve them by reading each other’s recount and talking about them. We also used Revision Assistant to help edit each other’s story and Mrs B added some notes as well. Everyone in our room likes Revision Assistant because it’s easy to understand the marks/ notes that it puts on your writing and so it’s quick for us to go and do the fix-ups. I hope someone will give me some feedback.

It was a cloudy Monday. Mike, Mum, and I were catching mullet at Nana and Grandad Kendall's. Mike hopped on the dinghy and threw the net out and it billowed out like an umbrella against the dust of the grey sky. Meanwhile me and my Mother sat on shore. We bought patience while we waited for fish to arrive hoping that there would be some.We picked mangroves and fed the two fat donkeys. Their teeth looked blunt,

although they crushed the mangroves like no other mammal on the earth.

As hours passed I started to grow bored and impatient, groaning like a helpless sheep.And then a miracle happened.  I finished what I am best at when  Mike announced,“We will now pull in the mullet net.”

I wasn’t too hopeful because the floaties were still up. Did we get none??Did we get some? “?No”, Did we get ONE? “Yes.”

It was an absolute pity butt, oh boy, was that one little dumb mullet was yum?

Thank God, Nana Debbie was not there, She would have eaten it all.

This is an activity we did when we were learning how to find facts and put them in the right box on  a fishbone diagram. We are learning how to write a report about an animal which is native to China. We are learning about China at the moment because last week was Chinese language week and one of our classmates, Braeden, is half Chinese.

Something I think I have done well  is making sure I got the right facts in the right box.

Next time I think I could improve by writing more notes and fewer sentences. I need to just write down key words not whole sentences when I am making notes.

I really enjoyed the whole week and especially rock wall climbing was amazing.My favourite part was making huts with my friends in the snow.

I think I did a good job but my teacher found some capital letters and fullstops missing and I had to fix them.

I am writing to thank you very much for looking after us so well during our stay last week.

I really like staying at your lodge. It was very nice.

I really enjoyed the whole week because your beds were nice, your bathrooms were clean and fresh and your meals were delicious. My favorite meal was all of them. I really appreciate it!

I hope I can come and stay at Piper’s Lodge again, one day.

Holiday Story 2016

Here is a short recount I wrote about the holidays.                 

On the holidays I did lots of things but I mostly went to Dwayne's who I think is my uncle though I m not quite sure. My possible cousin lives there with him and sometimes we get into trouble for being naughty. My cousin owns a calf and it has a shape of a star in the very centre of its forehead.

Meanwhile my father (Morehu.) was trying to get his car running and it finally started up but it made such a loud noise that the horses pooped themselves. My cousin and I laughed our heads off.

My multiplication level for the end of term 2.

Last week we had to re-do the multiplication test that we did at the beginning of the year to see what progress we had made. Last time I got a score of 22/30 and I knew my 0x,1x,2x,5x,10x,3x and 4x tables so that means I was working at Stage 6 Level 3. That's the level I need to be on for the end of the year. This time my score was 28/30 and I know everything I knew last time plus the 7x, 9x and 11x tables. I need to learn my 6x, 8x and 12x tables. I'm one of the best at multiplication in my class and my goal is to beat Freedom.

Seeing My Little Cousin.

Last weekend on my nan's birthday my little cousin Raine was here.
She has a beautiful smile and it's great to be her BIG only proper cousin.
I love Rainebecause she has the biggest smile and when she scrunches up her eyes and grins she is so cool.
In that past week she has learnt so much from me.
She likes to dance and wiggle her little bottom at people like a little monkey.
She is my little cousin.
I love Raine.
She is around 1 and a half.
When we have roast chicken or turkey, she likes to eat the stuffing.
She has stunning blue eyes and blonde hair like an angel.
She likes cats but doesn't like to touch them. She just likes looking at them,
but she does not like my grumpy cat because he is a naughty cat.
Whenever a dog woofs she makes a woofing noise.
So far all she can is Nana, Dad and Mum I think but my name is catching up though.

Maths.

Hi,
This Friday I have a very special post.
"I beat Freedom! Ha ha!"
But that isn't what this post is about, well kinda. The point is today I did a 'Basic Facts Speed Test'.
We do it every Friday and I passed Freedom AND got 79/80 in the test and wow! Isn't that great?!☻☻☻
"HA HA FREEDOM".
I have said my piece, now I wonder what Freedom has to say.

MY BASIC FACTS LEVEL FOR TERM 2.

Hello This week we had to re-do the basic facts test  that we did at the start of the year to see what improvement we had made. Last time I got a score of  20/60  and I was working at Stage 5 Level 2. This time my score was 37/60 but this time I did the Stage 6, Level 3 test. In basic facts I;m already at the standard for the end of year 5 .So, I'm doing very well but I need to learn my groupings within a thousand, and multiplication and division facts.

Descriptive Writing _ Animal: Karakiri.

Hi,
This week I did even more descriptive writing and this time it was about an animal. My animal is called a Karakiri. This is the Maori word for a parakeet.Though, that is what I thought.
A Karakiri is a green bird that lives in a forest.
It is a very unique bird and they make good pets.
We had to a do a picture brainstorm with describing words around it and complete a paragraph plan.

Descriptive Writing.

Hi this week I have been doing descriptive writing with Miss Dixon, we had to write about a setting and a character using descriptive language to describe the character/setting in a appropriate way.I enjoyed describing the witch.

This week we have been doing descriptive writing with Miss Dixon. We had to write about a castle and a character. I chose a witch. I liked describing the witch the most. We were learning to use similes and describe a setting and a character with appropriate language.

this is my digital art .
I think I can do better I was a bit to bothered and gutted that it had to be digital.
Although I like the way at first I did my hair until I heard we are not allowed to use the shape tool though we actually were.

My whole Numbers Diagnostic Test.

It was easy but I found it hard with rounding hundreds and number charts,but I was really good at heaps of my test.I think I need more practise with those two I got stuck on but it was fun.I go 92% percent :p .
