She brought real animal hearts and kidneys. This relates to our recent visit to Life Ed.It was very interesting and I must say it did smell nice when they were cooking. Here is some writing inspired by yesterdays experience.

Skittles.

Hi.
Earlier this week we did an experiment. We wanted to make patterns and different colors by pouring water on skittles. We had to use our senses to describe what we saw using adjectives and other writing jems to make our writing better.I wrote a short recount, I used all my senses.
Here's my Recount:

Skittles

Fading colours blend together like a smoothie.Silence struck the room when the skittle bag shook, the shake of the bag sounded like a rattlesnake shaking its tail.An aroma of sour lime and sweet strawberry flew up my nose.I sniffed the air, it made my mouth water. The tempting taste of the skittles were heavenly. The crunch, the flavour and the smooth edges of the skittle rub gently against the side of your mouth.

Meeting a Kiwi.

Kia Ora!!

A while ago I met a kiwi,
I met the kiwi at my Mums work. The kiwi was really shy, It snapped it's beak and growled at us.The kiwi is a juvenile male kiwi, it got stuck in a trap called a leg hold.People use them to sometimes catch cats that kill kiwis and they usually use them to kill possums and ferrets.
Here is some of the photos I took of the Kiwi:

Descriptive Writing

Kia Ora.
This week at school we had some scientists observe our class.
They looked at how well we worked on our computers and how our teachers work with us.  We did some descriptive writing using our 5 senses, we chose a picture to write about.  We were expected to write a short story about it using our 5 senses but we had to do at least 3.
Here is my story called the burnt hospital :

Ashes crumble silently from the burnt crust walls of the hospital.
Faint noises of mice echoed through the walls.
You can feel the rusted bars of the old beds.
The walls smell musty and damp.
Hanging torn curtains covered in ashes dance in the wind, making ashes fly like fairies.
The smashed glass windows shattered into tiny bits of glass ready to slice your feet open.

Tomorrows Science Fair.

Kia ora.

Tomorrow is our science fair, we are getting very busy trying to organize everything for tomorrow. We all chose groups and each person had a job and something to bring, my group is: Deevon, Waiorere, Kyra, Willow, and I.I had to bring thumbtacks. Our experiment is lightning in a glass jar, what we have to do is in our jar we have to place aluminum foil at the bottom of the jar, a dryer sheet on the top underneath the lid, and poke in thumbtacks. After, we closed the jar lid and then rubbed a balloon on our head, then we placed it on the jar. That is supposed to create static electricity, and it should travel from the metal lid, through the thumbtacks, to the aluminium foil. That should send lightning down the jar.

Our science experiments.

Kia ora.

We have been doing science experiments in preparation for the science fair. Here is a photo of one of our experiments. In this photo I have my group with me.In order from left to right, Hollie, Kyra, Daniel, and in the corner of the image me.This experiment was when we were trying to make a tea bag fly,
we had to light it on fire. When other peoples tea bags burnt the ashes flew into the air, that did not happen to our tea bag though.
